Trip to Karlštejn

Karlstejn

One time a Lenka’s schoolmate from high school came out with this idea that three of us could make a trip to Karlštejn. I have a suspicion that the true reason was that he wanted to look me over to find out, who Lenka goes out with. Fortunately I passed, and he sent her an SMS in the evening that I was approved.

As you can see in the picture gallery, the trip was taken as a train journey. For me it was an experience overall, since I haven’t ridden in a train for a long time. Fortunately everything worked as it should, so the trip was a success. Even the climb to the castle was not as bad, as it looked from the train station. We saw insides of the castle, but not the chapel, that would have to be ordered in advance. This was my second visit to the inside of the castle. For those who don’t know and would be interested – the castle is practically empty, there is no inventory. The only thing, which is really not traditional and interesting, is the restroom of the Charles the Fourth, accessible from the anteroom of his chamber. It is not every day that you can see a medieval restroom.

Pictures are here.
