Denmark - Spring 2009

Dánsko 2009We went to Denmark in the spring of 2009 for a weekend only to a C event that I called. We went there directly from England (you can read about that trip here). The trip started in Calais at night and according to our calculations we should have arrived at Aalborg. We were not sure that we were going to manage, since we met a couple of nice bikers, who told us that there was a big storm in Belgium and that the freeways there were under water. We did not try to find a detour though, because we believed that we were going to get through.

The journey went completely smoothly in spite of rain. Lenka went to sleep almost immediately as soon as we left the ferry, so I drove all the way to Hamburg. We switched over there. I did not feel like sleeping, so I saw a fantastic sunrise at the Vejle fjord. I do not have the picture, it went too quickly. It is better to see it with your own eyes anyway.

We really did get to Aalborg at eight in the morning and we met parents, who brought their children to Mona, at the door. So I went to sleep as planned, and Lenka watched Mona watching the children. I woke up at about 2 pm, fresh enough for afternoon calling.

The level of the event ranged from C1 all the way to C3A, or the other way around. We started with C3A and every hour and a half another bunch of people showed up, and we went down a level. The event came out really well, and based on this Mona said that she would do an official C special in 2010.
